Hi, my name is Ade;
I am a Health & Fitness Manager & have been a Personal Trainer for over 30 years.
I have worked closely with GP & was Manager of SDC GP Referral Scheme for over 12 years.

I present a wealth of health & fitness knowledge & experience; helping people reach their goals through personal training sessions & through my online individually tailored programmes.

As a certified AS Nutritionist I also offer guidance & individually designed nutritional programmes on all levels, from basic personal dietary advice for general weight gain or loss to advanced sports nutrition for bodybuilding competition or competitive sports preparation.

I can provide ongoing segmental 
body-composition analysis comprising of bodyfat %, lean muscle, fluid retention levels, BMR, VO2max etc.
My on-line personal programmes contain advice for both indoor and outdoor activities as well as nutritional and dietary advice.

Sporting Background & Interests

  • I was a competitive Swimmer & held several National records both short-course & long-course in 1980's & 90's
  • I was a non-competitive natural fitness bodybuilder 
  • I was National Cross-training Team Champion (X-Zone) & Ultra-fit podium
  • I am still a competitive Triathlete & have competed in all distances from sprint to 70.3 half-Ironman 
  • My team & I 'Future Fitness' were London Triathlon Sprint Team Champions in both 2003 & 2004
  • I have competed in various Adventure races incl. Tough-guy Nettle Warrior, Last Man standing & The Awesome Foursome.

Business Background & Employment

I set up my Personal Training business 
'Future Fitness' in 1993.
Alongside Future Fitness I was employed for a little over 12 years as Healthy Lifestyles GP Referral Manager for Stroud District Council (Gloucestershire).

I started working for Circadian Trust (formerly South Glos Leisure) in 2007 as Health & Fitness Manager & have managed four of their Active Centres namely, Longwell Green, Kingswood, Yate & Thornbury Leisure Centre.

The Importance of Exercise for the whole family

Exercise should be fun

When you’re having fun you hardly realise that you’re working out and this creates one of the most important aspects of a healthy lifestyle, 'longevity'. The longer you stick to working out the more progress you make & you will sustain your progress making health & fitness a 'lifestyle choice'.
The message is simple; mix up your workouts to enjoy them more & make them easier to sustain:
DON'T KEEP DOING THE SAME THING WEEK AFTER WEEK, MONTH AFTER MONTH!

Exercise for you & your family

I help children & adults get fit & healthy through various interactive sporting activities both indoors & outdoors (depending on our British weather). Activities such as swimming or learning to swim, mountain-biking, off-road fitness walks where living in the Cotswold's is an absolute bonus.
I of course advocate gym workouts which would include various functional movements for strengthening, toning, improving your flexibility & general cardiovascular fitness.

Healthy Team Spirit

Healthy competition is a great way to learn about ourselves and motivate others. 
I encourage families to workout together and where possible, to enter fitness events where they can have friendly interactive competition i.e. 5km fun runs, mud runs, charity events etc.
